Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Due to our limited fitting room availability and in order to deliver the best service you deserve, an appointment is required. |
What should I bring?
Please bring any undergarments you will need to feel comfortable in during your one on one appointment with your Bridal Stylist. We do require underwear. We do have cups and undergarments available for purchase. All of our gowns have built in cups or corsetry, so you can try on gowns without bras if you wish. If you have any accessories that you plan to wear during your ceremony (jewelry, shoes, etc.) feel free to bring those too! We do not supply shoes during your appointment. |
Who should I bring?
Please bring everyone that you need present to buy your dress so no one special misses that once in a lifetime moment when you realize that you have found the one! Please note that depending upon the amount of appointments coinciding, seating is limited to 4 per party and additional guests may have to stand. If you have a large party, you may consider upgrading to one of our Diamond Bride Appointments to ensure seating and space for everyone. |
How far in advance should I purchase my dress?
If you would like to special order a dress, this needs to be done at minimum of 6-10 months in advance of your wedding. It's generally best to add another 2-3 months to leave time for alterations. The closer to a year out the better! The process of making each gown does not begin until after the order is placed and alterations can take up to 3 months. Gowns can be rush ordered for an additional fee if necessary. Many gowns currently in stock can also be purchased off the rack! |
What is the price range at your store?
Our dresses are currently priced from $1200-$4000. |
What do I need to know about gown sizing?
Bridal sizing works a little differently than our everyday clothes. Most dresses will be 1 -3 sizes bigger than the size you wear in street clothes. Our current collection of dresses range up to about a street size 18/20 or a bridal size 24 but we are expanding this every month!
If your preferences do not fall in one of these categories, please call us at (319) 400-4200 as we are always changing our stock to try to best meet the needs of our community. |
Dress protection:
In order to keep our dresses in the best condition possible, we ask that you refrain from shopping in fresh spray/rub on tanners and wearing foundation on your chest. In addition, lotions and oils from your hands can yellow dresses over time, and so we do ask you to sanitize your hands at the beginning of every appointment. |
Will my dress need alterations?
Yes, almost every wedding gown will need some sort of alteration, even if it is just to adjust your straps! We do not have a seamstress in house, but we do have selection of local seamstresses we can recommend |
What is the typical price range for alterations?
We have local seamstresses that we recommend to our brides. Each gown, bride, and seamstress will have different necessary and recommended alterations which will cause pricing to be tailored to each scenario. |
